Avid Pro Tools | S6 offers open door to the industry for Middlesbrough Music Tech students

Middlesbrough College in England’s Tees Valley wanted to give its advanced music technology students the skills and industry exposure needed to compete in a tough market. As an Avid Learning Partner, the college used Avid Technology’s Pro Tools-based hardware and software, including the MediaCentral Platform and Pro Tools systems, to teach composition, recording, editing, and mixing with professional tools.

Avid Technology helped Middlesbrough College upgrade its studios with two Pro Tools | S6 control surfaces, alongside Pro Tools | HD, C|24, and HD interfaces across music labs and control rooms. The result was faster, more intuitive high-precision workflows for students, with plans to expand from 16 to 24 channels; graduates also leave with current, industry-relevant Avid skills, and the program supports a strong track record of students progressing into jobs, master’s study, and professional credits.
