Avid Pro Tools Brings the Sound of Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV to the Big Screen

Kingsglaive, the CGI feature film based on Final Fantasy XV, faced a major audio challenge: re-recording mixers needed to give game characters believable, distinct voices and keep dialogue, music, and effects balanced amid fast-changing visuals and dense action. Kingsglaive used Avid Technology’s Pro Tools from the Avid Artist Suite, powered by MediaCentral, to support a complex, global post-production workflow.

Avid Technology enabled Kingsglaive’s team to collaborate across continents with 16 Media Composer systems and seamless Pro Tools exchanges between Japan and Los Angeles. The solution helped the crew pre-dub and mix virtually, adapt quickly to picture changes, and maintain automation consistency, resulting in clearer, more flexible mixes and a polished soundtrack for sequences with more than 1,000 tracks.
