A Avid Technology Case Study
Food Network, the popular food-and-lifestyle television channel, was producing a growing volume of original shows but struggling with an aging tape-based workflow, media management challenges, and the need for faster collaboration across New York, Knoxville, and remote locations. To keep up with rapid growth, Food Network turned to Avid Technology and its Avid MediaCentral platform, along with ISIS shared storage, Interplay | Production, and Interplay Central.
Avid Technology implemented an end-to-end file-based workflow that let Food Network upload, access, edit, share, log, track, and sync media in real time from any location. The result was faster production, easier review and approval, and lower costs from eliminating tapes and shipping; producers could instantly receive screeners through a web browser, and the network was even able to air promos for Cutthroat Kitchen a month before launch, helping build buzz and support the show’s success.
