Avid Helps Pinewood Studios Stay On Top of UK Film Mixing

Pinewood Studios Group, one of Britain’s most historic and respected film mixing facilities, needed to modernize its sound department to stay ahead in high-end film post-production. The studio had already seen success with Avid Technology’s System 5 consoles at Shepperton, and wanted a new setup that would help it continue exceeding customer expectations while reinforcing its position as the UK’s premier film mixing facility.

Avid Technology implemented a major sound department revamp with two new large-format dual-operator System 5 film dubbing consoles and upgrades to Pinewood’s existing System 5 consoles with EuCon Hybrid DAW control and the latest eMix software. The new setup lets operators mix DSP and DAW tracks together from the console surface and control major DAWs such as Pro Tools, Pyramix, Logic Pro, and Nuendo. The result was a strengthened post-production operation for Pinewood Studios Group and further validation of Avid Technology as the console of choice for major film dubbing facilities.
