Avid Fills a Window on the World for RTL

RTL, the Netherlands-based news organization, faced the challenge of modernizing a 10-year-old SD studio while creating a more dynamic HD look with large virtual images, augmented reality, and streamlined production. Working with Avid Technology and others, RTL wanted a flexible studio setup that could better match how audiences consume news on modern devices.

Avid Technology delivered a solution built around Avid ProSet, 3Designer, HDVG4, and Maestro, integrated with RTL’s newsroom and studio automation systems. The new workflow enabled three virtual green screens, augmented content, and real-time 3D graphics, while reducing on-air personnel. RTL now produces 25 shows a day from the studio, with simpler set changes, lower resource needs, and dramatically improved presentation quality.
