Avid Everywhere is a Linchpin for TV Mexiquense’s Digital Switch-over

TV Mexiquense, operated by the State of Mexico agency Sistema de Radio y Televisión Mexiquense, faced the challenge of modernizing its newsroom, production center, and video library to support Mexico’s shift from analog to digital terrestrial television while improving picture quality and managing a large tape-based archive. To meet this need, the broadcaster turned to Avid Technology and its Avid Everywhere workflow tools.

Avid Technology implemented an integrated solution based on Avid MediaCentral, Avid Interplay | Production, Avid AirSpeed | 5500, Avid ISIS | 5500, and Avid Media Composer. The new workflow cut content loading time from up to six hours to one hour, enabled remote access and multi-platform distribution, and gave TV Mexiquense better control over editing and metadata. It also supports digitizing 30 years of archived tapes, helping position TV Mexiquense as a more competitive and technologically advanced broadcaster.
