Avid Brings Powerful Technology to Macquarie University

Macquarie University wanted to give students a real-world media education by building a modern teaching and broadcast facility for its Master of Creative Media and Master of Future Journalism programs. To do that, the university turned to Avid Technology and its MediaCentral platform to mirror the workflows and tools used by major broadcasters and online media outlets.

Avid Technology implemented an end-to-end workflow for the Futures Lab using MediaCentral, iNEWS, ISIS 5500 shared storage, Media Composer, Pro Tools, and other Avid solutions. The result was a fully connected production hub that supports collaboration across the university, enables students to create news and broadcast content from nearly any device or location, and helps prepare graduates for industry-standard media roles.
