Avid Brings Coachella 2013 to Life

Rat Sound Systems, the longtime audio provider for Coachella, faced the challenge of delivering reliable, fast-turnaround sound for 175 bands across five stages at Coachella 2013. To meet the demands of the festival, Rat Sound Systems relied on Avid Technology live systems, including Profile consoles and Pro Tools, to give engineers a familiar workflow and reduce pre-production complexity.

Avid Technology helped Rat Sound Systems run the festival smoothly by enabling engineers to walk up, load show files, line check, and go with minimal setup. The Avid Profile systems made mixing more consistent and comfortable for visiting engineers, reduced advance prep, and supported A/B console setups on three stages; Rat Sound reported using 10 Profile Systems per stage setup and all but seven acts used the supplied consoles.
