Adlib Audio and VENUE Help Summertime Ball Run Smoothly

Summertime Ball, the annual Capital FM festival-style concert at Wembley Stadium, faced an enormous live-sound challenge: 12 acts had to be loaded on and off stage with as little as three minutes between sets, while production demands varied widely and the show ran in rainy conditions. Adlib Audio worked with Avid Technology using Avid VENUE systems to manage the fast-paced event and meet the artists’ technical requirements.

Avid Technology’s VENUE Profile and D-Show systems were used at front of house, with show files, snapshots, and Pro Tools plugin support helping engineers switch quickly between acts and handle different input counts without rebuilding the desk. The setup kept changeovers moving, supported presenter and VT feeds, and allowed rapid troubleshooting on the fly; in some cases, turnarounds were as short as 60 seconds, with no delays reported during the show.
