WGEM, a TV broadcaster in Quincy, IL, needed to build a full HD Production Control Room while staying on air and keeping existing operations running. AVI Systems was selected to handle the project, which included a complete studio redesign, rebuild of the control room, and integration with the station’s existing master control infrastructure.

AVI Systems designed and installed the new production environment using Ross Video, Panasonic HD cameras, Telemetrics robotics, Ross Xpression graphics, Avid iNews, and a Yamaha audio console. The upgraded control room enabled WGEM to broadcast local newscasts in full HD, and AVI Systems completed the project with final commissioning and as-built documentation delivered in print and electronic form.
