Iowa Cubs A Winning Camera System for an HD Scoreboard

The Iowa Cubs, a Triple-A baseball team at Principal Park in Des Moines, needed a new camera system to match the quality of their HD scoreboard. Their existing SD equipment limited their ability to capture the crowd and game-day atmosphere effectively, and they needed a fast upgrade before the season opener.

AVI Systems recommended and installed a Panasonic-based production setup, centered on HC3800 cameras, CCUs, remote panels, switcher, monitors, and fiber connectivity for uncompressed video, control, and power. The new system improved image quality, color matching, and ease of operation for staff, while the PX800 camcorder expanded roving coverage for audience shots; AVI Systems completed the installation in time for the April opener.
