AVI-SPL worked with the New York City Hall Situation Room to transform an underutilized basement office into a highly efficient communications hub for the mayor after 9/11. The challenge was to create a secure, easy-to-manage environment that could handle hundreds of information sources and support rapid decision making.

AVI-SPL implemented an integrated control and conferencing solution featuring a Barco video wall, NEC 46" LCD displays, an HD camera, projection backup, Contemporary Research tuners, and encrypted video conferencing. The system also included ceiling microphones, wireless audio, and motorized pop-up connectivity, enabling city leaders to monitor emergency events, switch between presets, and view single or multiple sources at once for faster, more secure responses.
