MBZUAI launches a 270-degree Data Observatory in 2 months with AVI-SPL

The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) sought to enhance the global visibility of its AI research and create an innovative facility for its faculty and students. Their challenge was to build a state-of-the-art Data Observatory to showcase this research, with a key objective of having it operational for the COP28 conference, all within a constrained space and a very tight two-month timeline. They partnered with vendor AVI-SPL to deliver a custom 270-degree video wall solution.

AVI-SPL implemented a bespoke 270-degree video wall using Absen panels and a custom-built PC powered by high-end GPUs to handle real-time content. Despite spatial and scheduling challenges, AVI-SPL successfully delivered the complex installation on time. The result was a significant technical achievement for MBZUAI, which was used to present immersive AI models to global leaders at COP28, elevating the university's profile and demonstrating the practical applications of its research.
