Improving A Cancer Center’s Connection With Digital Signage

Moffitt Cancer Center, a nationally recognized cancer research institute and hospital, needed to develop a single media platform to replace static signage and share its extensive video archive with patients, visitors, and a network of clinicians. They partnered with AVI-SPL to create a solution that would be future-proof and capable of converting analog content into a streaming digital format.

AVI-SPL implemented a solution featuring Cisco's Digital Media Suite, including Show and Share (rebranded as "Moffitt on Demand") and Cisco Digital Signs. This allowed Moffitt to centrally manage and distribute its digital content library across over 40 on-campus monitors and to affiliated hospitals. The solution automated the previously manual process of video transcoding and provided templates for consistent branding. AVI-SPL's work resulted in a system that met with extraordinary feedback from patients and staff, fulfilling a long-awaited need for the center.
