Case Study: RMIT University improves AV reliability and student experience with AVI-SPL Symphony

A AVI-SPL Case Study

Preview of the RMIT University Case Study

How to proactively manage 1,000 global classrooms from a single location

RMIT University, a global higher-education institution with campuses across multiple countries, needed a better way to monitor and support thousands of AV and collaboration devices spread across more than 1,000 rooms. Before implementing AVI-SPL’s Symphony, its technicians relied on multiple tools and mostly reactive support, which led to high ticket volumes, manual effort, and classroom disruptions.

AVI-SPL implemented Symphony as a cloud-based, single-pane-of-glass monitoring platform for RMIT’s AV and UC estate, enabling proactive alerts, faster troubleshooting, and data-driven maintenance. The result was fewer client-initiated tickets, more auto-detected issues, lower mean time to resolution, and improved reliability for students and staff, including averting a campus-wide outage that could have affected 5,000+ students.
