Heriot Watt University modernizes 218,000-square-foot campus with AVI-SPL

Heriot Watt University sought to transform its main campus into a future-proofed, technologically advanced environment to enhance learning and collaboration. The challenge was to design and implement scalable, user-friendly AV solutions across a wide variety of spaces, including classrooms, meeting rooms, and a large town hall venue. To achieve this, the university partnered with vendor AVI-SPL.

AVI-SPL implemented a comprehensive suite of solutions, equipping over 80 spaces with technologies from partners like Crestron, Epson, and Neat. The deployment included intuitive control systems, wireless collaboration tools, and advanced audio and video conferencing. The results were seamless technology integration and a vastly improved user experience for faculty and students. The project's success led to an ongoing partnership, with AVI-SPL already commissioned to design the AV solutions for the university's 2025 campus expansion.
