HELP Pain Medical Network - Customer Case Study

HELP Pain Medical Network, a California pain therapy clinic, needed a cost-effective way to deliver treatment and training to patients spread across communities as far as three hours away, while reducing travel time, expenses, and communication gaps with primary physicians. AVI-SPL helped address this challenge with a video collaboration approach centered on a customized Polycom-based telepresence solution.

AVI-SPL implemented two Caméléon Telepresence systems at the San Mateo and Fresno locations, plus a single-screen Polycom RealPresence system in Salinas and 100 RealPresence desktop clients for physicians and staff. The result was faster, more efficient patient education and rehabilitation sessions in 30-minute to 1-hour blocks, reduced travel for patients and staff, and stronger physician involvement in treatment; within six months, users had become highly proficient with the system, and HELP Pain Medical Network expanded plans to use the technology for underserved communities in southern California.
