A AVI-SPL Case Study
Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management wanted to create a more student-centric, flipped classroom environment that would encourage collaboration, participation, and shared learning instead of traditional lecture-style teaching. To bring that vision to life, FIU partnered with AVI-SPL to design and integrate an interactive classroom equipped for modern, interactive instruction.
AVI-SPL implemented a solution built around interactive Sharp 1080p displays, Barco ClickShare wireless sharing, NEC monitoring displays, and Chief wall mounts, along with classroom control and support capabilities. The new room enables student collaboration, annotation, video conferencing, and remote participation, and it has led to increased student engagement both domestically and internationally. According to FIU, the room is booked 100% of the time, faculty are eager to reserve it, and other departments are beginning to copy the model.
