City of North Battleford elevates council chamber streaming with AVI-SPL across 2 rooms

The City of North Battleford faced the challenge of upgrading its council chamber AV system to provide better communication for both in-person and remote participants. This was complicated by a sudden need to temporarily host meetings in a different, acoustically difficult location due to COVID-19. The city engaged vendor AVI-SPL to create a flexible and transportable solution that could support high-quality live streaming and clear audio interactions.

AVI-SPL designed and implemented a custom, portable AV and streaming solution built around a Biamp DSP and featuring Crestron control, Shure microphones, PTZ cameras, and Voice Lift speakers. The system was successfully adapted for both the temporary and permanent spaces, overcoming acoustic challenges with hanging panels. The results include regular, high-quality streaming of council sessions to multiple platforms and local cable TV. The City of North Battleford reported a very positive experience with AVI-SPL, praising their expertise and delivery, and continues to work with them on future enhancements like auto-camera tracking.
