The City of Minneapolis partnered with AVI-SPL to build an advanced Emergency Operations Center and Training Facility that could support multiple agencies and improve crisis response. The city needed a state-of-the-art system that would be reliable, easy to operate, and capable of 24/7 performance, even though it would likely be used only during major emergencies.

AVI-SPL integrated facility-wide audio and video distribution, video conferencing, digital media control, annotation tools, and high-resolution video wall displays using technologies such as SMART Symposium, Tandberg video conferencing, and Crestron Digital Media. As a result, Minneapolis improved emergency preparedness, enabled real-time communication with city leaders, and increased its ability to get information to responders faster, helping the city “digitize” its emergency operations.
