Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) needed to equip its new downtown Montreal headquarters for 1,100 employees with technology that would make collaboration easier, support bilingual use, and help create “social collisions” between staff and clients. AVI-SPL was brought in to design and integrate the AV and collaboration environment, including video conferencing, room control, and content-sharing systems.

AVI-SPL implemented Cisco SX80 TelePresence in more than 80 meeting rooms, Mersive Solstice for wireless content sharing, custom Crestron touch-panel controls in English and French, AMX HydraPorts for easy wired connections, and NEC displays throughout the building. The result was a user-friendly, secure, and flexible workplace that improved collaboration across the headquarters and BDC’s 124 branches in Canada, with over 90% of employees reacting favorably to the new environment.
