Austin Energy, a utility serving more than 1 million customers across the Austin, Texas area, needed a way to modernize its operations center and give staff a true at-a-glance view of its entire service network. To meet this challenge, AVI-SPL provided a high-visibility video wall solution using Barco cubes.

AVI-SPL installed a 17-by-4 video wall made up of 80-inch Barco cubes, stretching 89 feet wide by 16 feet high, along with four 70-inch displays for news and weather updates. The new control center gives operators clear, high-resolution access to SCADA data, transmission and distribution schematics, and geographic displays, improving situational awareness and allowing them to zoom into images without leaving their seats. The wall also uses energy-efficient LED lighting with an eco mode rated for over 80,000 hours.
