A Healthcare School Trains Using Advanced Visualization

The University of Toledo’s Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center needed a way to better train healthcare students and professionals in clinical practice while improving interdisciplinary collaboration and patient safety. AVI-SPL helped support that vision with advanced visualization and collaboration technologies, including Barco video walls, Crestron control systems, Cisco video conferencing, Sharp displays, and integration services.

AVI-SPL implemented a multi-floor immersive simulation environment featuring a five-sided iSpace Barco system, curved CAD wall, advanced clinical simulation rooms, surgical skills spaces, cameras, displays, and centralized control. The result is a highly interactive training center used by 1,500 to 2,000 learners each month, helping students experience realistic scenarios, strengthen teamwork and communication, and better prepare for real patient care.
