A AVI-SPL Case Study
Pennsylvania Convention Center, one of the nation’s largest convention center properties, needed to replace an outdated analog audio system with a more flexible, networked platform that could support multiple functions across ballrooms, exhibit halls, and other large spaces. The center chose AVI-SPL, working with Biamp audio distribution and reinforcement solutions, to create a system that could handle music, announcements, and emergency notifications while improving centralized control for the AV team.
AVI-SPL implemented a networked Biamp solution built around AudiaFLEX and 30 AudiaFUSION networked amplified processors, with CobraNet routing over CAT-5 Ethernet and Vocia for emergency messaging. The result was the world’s largest AudiaFLEX-feeding-AudiaFUSION project at the time, giving Pennsylvania Convention Center centralized management, zone-level flexibility, built-in redundancy, and a future-ready path for tying the new and existing spaces together with lower power and heat consumption.
