Woodlands Dairy (Pty) Ltd, a dairy processor in Humansdorp, needed to replace an outdated control system on a second‑hand powder plant and create a single, redundant platform to integrate disparate plants, meet ISO22000 food‑safety standards, and complete upgrades without interrupting production. AVEVA provided its Wonderware System Platform suite — including InTouch HMI, Historian and Historian Clients — to establish centralized data logging, PLC/SCADA standards, security controls and system redundancy.

Using AVEVA’s System Platform templates and PLC standards, the six‑month rollout integrated new plants and live upgrades, delivering centralized real‑time monitoring, full redundancy and standardized SCADA templates. The AVEVA solution produced measurable outcomes: ISO22000 compliance, reduced engineering costs through reusable standards, improved quality control and troubleshooting via accurate historian reporting, better operator confidence and reliable, real‑time production reporting.
