Wonderware Solution Helps Nanjing Metro Move Forward

Nanjing Metro needed a safe, efficient Line 2 to connect east and west suburbs across a 25 km route, managing 24 stations plus a central control room, repair depot and support facilities while meeting China’s “Code for Design of Metro” (decentralized control with centralized management) and reducing energy use. To meet these goals, Nanjing Metro worked with AVEVA, deploying AVEVA’s Wonderware System Platform with Wonderware InTouch HMI, Wonderware Historian and Wonderware ActiveFactory.

AVEVA implemented a decentralized Facilities Management System governed from a redundant central OCC, integrated with the signaling system, using templated InTouch screens and real‑time Historian data with ActiveFactory reporting. The AVEVA solution now underpins Line 2—serving more than five million people across 24 stations—while improving efficiency, reducing error rates, lowering maintenance costs, enabling energy and staffing optimizations, and providing scalable support for planned expansion.
