Wonderware and Meteng Combine for Innovative 3D Process Modeling and Simulation System

Meteng Pty Ltd, an Australian engineering consultancy specializing in process modeling and simulation, developed the WISE (Walk‑Through Interactive Simulated Environment) to design plants and train operators in a realistic 3D “cave” environment. The project required very high-performance control and visualization across Apple and Windows platforms, large high‑resolution displays, easy expansion and rapid updates—challenges Meteng addressed by working with AVEVA and using Wonderware InTouch HMI and Wonderware InControl software.

AVEVA’s Wonderware InTouch and InControl served as the central SCADA/HMI and scripting/control layer for WISE, delivering faster data transfer and improved operator response, simplifying installation and updates, and enabling rapid reuse and standardization of modules. As a result Meteng could focus on process modeling instead of low‑level coding, respond quickly to client revisions, reduce engineering costs through reuse, and help clients avoid costly onsite fixes—improving system performance and accelerating time to revenue. AVEVA’s software and support were key to these measurable efficiency and ROI gains.
