Case Study: L&T Hydrocarbon achieves a single-point information repository and integrated engineering with AVEVA

With help from the AVEVA team, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering implements modern, streamlined project management solutions that allows them a single-point information repository

L&T Hydrocarbon, part of the Larsen & Toubro group, needed to unify engineering data from many legacy systems and formats, integrate that data with 3D models, and deliver a reliable single-point information repository without disrupting ongoing projects. To achieve this, L&T worked with AVEVA, deploying AVEVA Integrated Engineering and Design capabilities including AVEVA NET (Workhub and Dashboard) alongside AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Engineering and PDMS.

AVEVA implemented a staged, five-step rollout—requirements analysis, design, build/validation, training and full production—using gateways and integrators to bring multi-source data into AVEVA NET. As a result L&T achieved its single-point repository, automated change management and faster, error‑reduced handover; the company now consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations and can support India’s largest crude oil producer (which produces about 70% of the country’s crude oil), while reducing duplication, risk, cost and project timescales.
