Total Control and Visibility for the CuttingEdge Process of Ambiensys “GeiserBox” Urban Waste Management Solutions

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), the public railway operator in Barcelona, Spain, needed to modernize and centrally manage station operations across 76 stations without interrupting service. Working with AVEVA, FGC sought a way to remotely control ticketing, doors, lighting, access control, and other station functions while maintaining the high reliability and customer satisfaction expected of a major transportation network.

AVEVA implemented System Platform, InTouch HMI, and Historian to create a unified supervisory system for FGC’s rail lines and stations. The solution enabled remote management of about 50,000 signals and reduced staffing needs to three operators for the Barcelona-Vallès line and two for the Llobregat-Anoia line, while improving response times, reliability, and security. AVEVA’s software helped FGC avoid service disruption during rollout and contributed to consistently high customer satisfaction scores.
