SIA Abrasives Industries, a leading coated-abrasives manufacturer, faced fragmented, outdated systems, paper-based processes and local data loss that caused frequent errors and slow, laborious production planning. To create a paperless, plant-floor-to-PPC connection, SIA engaged AVEVA, deploying Wonderware solutions including ActiveFactory, Development Studio, Historian, Information Server and the Manufacturing Execution Module, with systems integration by acs ag.

AVEVA’s Wonderware implementation centralized real-time data in a Wonderware Historian, standardized data flows and enabled central dispatch of production orders, automatic machine setup and role-based access to live information. The solution eliminated paper records, unified dataflow, reduced scheduling response times and cut manual-entry errors—delivering higher product quality, faster reaction times and better coordination between production and other departments.
