Tata Power Uses AVEVA PRiSM Predictive Asset Analytics Software

Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies, needed a fleet-wide monitoring and diagnostics program to avoid asset failures, reduce unplanned downtime and gain early warning of emerging equipment issues. After evaluating options, Tata Power selected AVEVA PRiSM Predictive Asset Analytics to transform existing sensor data into real-time insights for proactive maintenance across its plants.

Using AVEVA PRiSM, Tata Power deployed over 300 models in Phase 1 for two 800 MW units at Mundra and built a remote monitoring center (ADoRE) to manage alerts, retrain models and share diagnostics. AVEVA’s solution (OPTiCS APR/machine learning) delivered early detection of problems—examples include a partially open heater bypass valve and clogged bearing cooling lines—helping avoid serious damage, improve reliability and plan maintenance more effectively; one identified catch alone saved an estimated $270,000 USD.
