Puerto Rico Water and Sewage Authority Delivers Increased Customer Satisfaction with AVEVA Solution

The Puerto Rico Water and Sewage Authority, which manages over 1,500 sites and one of the world’s largest System Platform installations, needed to integrate more than 120 disparate platforms, maintain EPA compliance, improve island-wide visibility and troubleshooting across tough terrain with limited communications, and increase output while controlling costs. To meet these challenges the Authority worked with AVEVA (and distributor iMiS) to deploy AVEVA System Platform, AVEVA Historian, ActiveFactory, AVEVA Historian Clients and AVEVA Industrial Computers for centralized monitoring, security and high-speed historical data collection.

AVEVA’s solution centralized management and real-time diagnostics, enabling proactive troubleshooting, automatic fault detection, faster deployments and reduced travel to remote sites. As a result AVEVA helped the Authority increase output from 12 million to 20–30 million gallons, achieve estimated cost savings of $15 million over seven years, reduce shutdowns, standardize operations island-wide, and maintain consistent, EPA-compliant water quality with improved customer satisfaction.
