MMG Limited, a diversified base‑metals miner with operations across Australia, the DRC, Laos and Peru, faced the challenge of standardising asset utilisation and OEE measurement across five global sites while remaining flexible to local operating conditions. They needed automated data capture, a unified Time Usage Model and cause codes, single‑sign‑on integration with existing systems, and the ability to drill down to root causes to drive continuous improvement — requirements addressed through AVEVA’s Ampla Operations Management software and services.

AVEVA delivered a turnkey solution (Ampla plus consulting, design, implementation, training and support) that integrated with plant control systems to turn OEE from a lagging report into a near‑real‑time lead indicator with native drill‑down analytics. The program produced measurable results: at least a 10% increase in asset utilisation across sites, overall 10–20% capacity improvements, Sepon and Kinsevere running 12% and 34% above nameplate (adding 29,422 tonnes of copper in 2015), faster problem resolution and lower operating costs.
