Invensys Technology Enables Remote Monitoring of Wuxi Transportation Tunnel System in China’s Rapidly Growing Industrial and Technology Business Hub

Wuxi, China needed a scalable, open-architecture system to remotely manage its newly completed tunnel and Inner Ring Road network—monitoring traffic, power, lighting, ventilation, drainage and rapid emergency response across residential, industrial and business districts. Wuxi selected AVEVA, deploying the Wonderware System Platform along with InTouch HMI, Wonderware Information Server and Wonderware Historian to provide a reusable, component object–based solution that could be quickly adapted to changing tunnel conditions.

AVEVA implemented the Wonderware suite to deliver centralized visualization, historical data logging and web-based reporting, enabling full remote deployment of the transport corridor. The solution increased supported clients from six to more than ten, lowered engineering costs and headcount, improved operational efficiency and enhanced incident response—supporting the tunnel network that contributes to reduced travel times through central Wuxi.
