A AVEVA Case Study
Museumsinsel Berlin, a UNESCO World Heritage museum complex of five historic buildings, faced fragmented building automation systems that required specialized training for each site and limited staff flexibility. To standardize control, enable central facilities management, and give remote users easy access to operational data, the museum selected AVEVA’s Wonderware suite — including InTouch HMI, Historian and Historian Client — and required an open-architecture, BACnet-compatible solution that was simple to use and quick to deploy.
AVEVA implemented a Wonderware-based system that integrated existing building systems, connected all locations, and provided a common, easy-to-use interface with real-time data and alarms. The deployment (three networked PCs, one Historian server, six workstations and about 20 users) delivered centralized control, sub-five-second response times, real-time transmissions for immediate issue resolution, and reduced training needs; AVEVA’s solution also set the foundation for future expansion onto Wonderware System Platform.
