India’s first greenfield smart city chose AVEVA and Schneider Electric to ensure optimal operations from Day One

The Government of Chhattisgarh selected AVEVA (with strategic partner Schneider Electric) to build India’s first greenfield smart city, Atal Nagar, to address rapid urbanization, unequal resource distribution, environmental sustainability and inefficient city operations that were frustrating citizens. To tackle these challenges they deployed AVEVA’s Unified Operations Center as the core software platform to monitor and control city-wide services from Day One.

AVEVA implemented an integrated command-and-control solution that converged IT/OT and tied together the smart grid, water, buildings, street lighting, BRT, CCTV, e‑governance, energy management and city help desk systems, integrating over 100,000 I/O points. The result is faster incident response and unified operations, a live reference model for other cities, a ready template to scale services for up to 5.6 million residents by 2031, and a future-proofed smart-city platform that the Government of Chhattisgarh and Atal Nagar proudly cite as a success.
