Hanla NMT drives business growth with AVEVA Everything3D and laser scanning

Hanla NMT, a South Korean ship repair and conversion specialist and affiliate of Hanla IMS, needed to scale ballast water treatment system (BWTS) retrofits to meet new IMO regulations. The company faced pressure to reduce time and costs, eliminate duplication between scanned as‑built point cloud conversion and drawing/modelling, and improve design quality and team satisfaction, so it engaged AVEVA and evaluated AVEVA Everything3D (AVEVA E3D) with LFM Server.

AVEVA delivered a Proof of Concept and deployment of AVEVA E3D (and LFM Server) that directly integrates laser scan point clouds into 3D modelling and automates 2D drawing workflows. As a result AVEVA helped Hanla NMT cut planning and design time by about 30%, avoid duplicate work, improve output quality and designer morale, adopt the solution without specialist hardware, and better handle growing retrofit volumes.
