Dragados Offshore S.A., a Madrid-based marine EPC contractor, needed a flexible design system to handle increasingly complex offshore projects while ensuring realtime association between 3D models and 2D deliverables, treating welds as tagged objects, automating optimized weld preparations, and supporting early structural design with minimal disruption. To meet these goals they partnered with AVEVA and adopted AVEVA Bocad.

AVEVA implemented a phased, customized rollout of AVEVA Bocad, training 70 users within a year and tailoring deliverables and macros to Dragados Offshore’s workflows. The solution enabled on-demand, shop-ready fabrication outputs, improved interoperability with structural analysis tools, reduced clashes and rework, and delivered faster time to market and more efficient steel detailing—saving a considerable percentage of project time and improving overall project quality.
