CFE Mexico - Customer Case Study

CFE Mexico, the Federal Electricity Commission, operates an extensive transmission network (38 transmission and 140 sub‑transmission substations) and serves roughly 35.3 million customers (about 100 million people). Facing government energy reform and rapidly growing demand, CFE Mexico needed to centralize visibility and control, align assets and operations with the Smart Grid Maturity Model, and modernize mobile workforce operations — and engaged AVEVA and its Smart Grid portfolio (System Platform, InTouch HMI, Workflow Management, Intelligence, IntelaTrac Mobile Operator Rounds and the CEMODAT tool) to meet those challenges.

AVEVA implemented an integrated control‑center solution and mobile-operator integration that centralized monitoring, created reusable substation templates, and linked Mobile Operator Rounds into SAP PM. As a result, CFE Mexico now orchestrates dynamic transmission models in real time, archives maintenance data for asset‑health benchmarking, automatically closes work orders via IntelaTrac, improves transparency for mobile crews, and leverages predictive analytics to mitigate risk and reduce costs while supporting service to tens of millions of customers.
