Case Study: Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau achieves faster hull construction and significant cost savings with AVEVA Marine

A AVEVA Case Study

Preview of the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau Case Study

AVEVA Marine solutions allow CMDB Almaz to stay competitive, and consistently create innovative ship designs used all over the world

Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau (CMDB Almaz), a leading Russian ship design and engineering organisation founded in 1949, needed to ensure coherence between design elements, deliver accurate 3D models to construction teams, and support both Russian standards and overseas customer requirements. To achieve an integrated Engineering & Design approach on a common platform, CMDB Almaz migrated from Tribon to AVEVA Marine in 2012.

Using AVEVA’s integrated AVEVA Marine suite (with modules such as Hull Detailed Design, Outfitting, Cable Design, Assembly Planning, Hull Finite Element Modeller, diagrams and AVEVA NET Workhub), AVEVA provided seamless integration between hull and outfitting and automatic production of outfitting drawings and deliverables. AVEVA’s solution cut project timescales and costs, produced a significant reduction in hull construction and outfitting time, and enabled accurate procurement and scheduling of materials that delivered measurable cost savings.
