AVEVA Maintenance Management Solution pays off for CF Industrial Fertilizer Plant

CF Industries, a major North American fertilizer manufacturer, needed to replace an aging homegrown IBM AS/400 maintenance planning system to support growth, reduce costs, and enable a modern Windows/Internet-enabled platform. CF Industries selected AVEVA, deploying Avantis.PRO Enterprise Asset Management and Avantis.DSS decision support to preserve heavy-duty maintenance planning while adding flexibility, integration and analytics.

AVEVA implemented Avantis.PRO and Avantis.DSS to automate maintenance planning for roughly 50,000 asset entities and manage about 60,000 inventory items, consolidating dashboards/KPIs and integrating multiple systems. The AVEVA solution cut data-analysis time from two weeks to ten minutes, reduced inventory by several million dollars, achieved about $2 million in sourcing savings, and delivered estimated benefits including up to 5% potential revenue improvement and up to 10% reduction in operating costs, paying for itself quickly.
