AREVA, a world leader in nuclear power, faced fragmented workflows and hard-to-manage, system-based databases across multiple offices while trying to improve data quality, change control and support concurrent engineering. To achieve Integrated Engineering & Design (IE&D) and better manage the data life cycle, AREVA expanded its AVEVA toolset by selecting AVEVA Engineering™ from vendor AVEVA to provide validated data entry, discipline-specific workflows and scalable project support.

AVEVA implemented AVEVA Engineering as a centralised, integrated engineering database (working with AVEVA PDMS and AVEVA Diagrams) with features like controlled object revisioning and “Distributed Attributes” to split responsibilities by discipline. The result was a dramatic reduction in the number of databases and much easier administration, real‑time multi‑discipline collaboration across global sites, successful gate reviews and adoption of AVEVA Engineering as AREVA’s standard solution for new projects.
