Case Study: UC/DALKIA achieves user-friendly chilled-water supervision and energy savings with AVEVA (ArchestrA System Platform & InTouch HMI)

ArchestrA System Platform helps run the Air Conditioning System’s Chilled Water Production at Dalkia

UC/DALKIA faced the challenge of supervising chilled-water production for the Paris–La Défense district while making the control system intuitive for operators and non‑technical visitors, remaining open to diverse PLC vendors, and centralizing process data archiving. To meet these goals they engaged AVEVA, deploying ArchestrA System Platform and InTouch HMI to replace conventional supervision without disrupting operations.

AVEVA implemented ArchestrA and InTouch with a Historian server, redundant servers, fiber‑optic PLC communications and a 50‑inch 3D overview screen, using easy-to‑use block diagrams and real‑time indicators. The AVEVA solution now supervises over 8,000 variables across 100+ screens, improved decision‑making for operators, increased production equipment availability and delivered significant energy savings through better monitoring and archived analytics.
