LafargeHolcim Brazil standardizes supplier evaluation across 80 plants with Avetta

LafargeHolcim Brazil, a major building materials company, faced significant challenges in standardizing the evaluation and prequalification of its 2,300 contractors across 80 plants. Their manual, email and spreadsheet-based processes increased risk, lacked objectivity, and provided no visibility into critical supplier metrics like sustainability and human rights records. To address this, they partnered with vendor Avetta to implement its supply chain risk management platform.

The Avetta solution provided a centralized, web-based tool to objectively evaluate and prequalify suppliers against uniform standards for health, safety, and sustainability. This implementation streamlined compliance, eliminated redundant paperwork for contractors, and provided LafargeHolcim with its first ability to assess suppliers on human rights. The project was a success, achieving a high degree of acceptance from suppliers, employees, and the board of directors.
