Salvation Taco, the taqueria opened by April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman inside New York’s Pod 39 Hotel, needed a fun, engaging way to boost average check in 2016. General Manager Mariana Ross partnered with Avero, a restaurant analytics provider, to find a real‑time way to motivate her service team to sell more signature items.

Using Avero’s Right Now mobile app, Mariana set daily upsell goals, tracked item and server performance in real time, and compared nightly sales to historical averages. The approach generated immediate uplifts (as much as $150 in minutes), increased individual server earnings by about $20 per shift (roughly $20,000+ per server annually), and produced about $180,000 in additional revenue per year for the restaurant.
