Ellery Homestyles, a global supplier of bedding, curtains and specialty window treatments founded in 1924 and selling to retailers like Walmart, Costco and Target, was struggling with error-prone, undocumented Excel-based demand planning that caused frequent stockouts and poor forecast visibility. To address this, the company engaged Avercast and adopted Avercast’s proprietary forecasting and algorithm-driven demand-planning software.
Avercast implemented its 250+ proprietary algorithm platform to automate forecasting, incorporate company and external events, and formalize planner processes. Six months after go-live Ellery Homestyles achieved a 21% reduction in total brick-and-mortar inventory, a 29% reduction in excess stock, and a 12% reduction in e-commerce total and excess inventory, while also improving documentation, collaboration, and aged-inventory review processes.
