Waterleidingmaatschappij Drenthe Synchronizes Content across Microsoft® SharePoint® Farms and Ensures No Data Loss with DocAve®

Waterleidingmaatschappij Drenthe (WMD), a 75‑year‑old regional water supplier serving 500,000 people from 12 production sites, relied on SharePoint for project portals and shared services across three organizations. As the IT team prepared an in‑house migration from SharePoint 2007/2010 to SharePoint 2013 for about 560 users, they needed to selectively reorganize and migrate content without interrupting business processes and without relying on error‑prone PowerShell scripts or external consultants.

WMD deployed AvePoint DocAve (Content Manager and Replicator) to graphically map, selectively copy and reorganize content and to synchronize environments; DocAve replicated 115 GB of content across SharePoint farms so users experienced zero downtime during the migration. The result was simplified, full‑fidelity migrations and intra‑farm reorganizations without custom scripts, greater internal SharePoint control, and uninterrupted business operations throughout the project.
