Univé Regio+ Optimizes Microsoft® SharePoint Storage and Improves Performance with Xblox B.V./Docubird Solutions and DocAve®

Univé Regio+, part of a Dutch mutual insurance group, was struggling with oversized Microsoft SharePoint environments—more than 10 TB of content across millions of documents—causing slow search performance and time-consuming, manual retention reviews required by industry regulations. End users reported slow document retrieval and IT faced daily backup and management challenges.

Xblox B.V./Docubird implemented AvePoint DocAve Storage Manager to apply rule-based retention and automatically externalize BLOBs to external storage. The project offloaded about 10 TB (reducing content databases by 99.5%), shrank many databases (for example from 400 GB to 40 GB), and reduced SQL storage to roughly 50 GB. As a result, searches are about 20% faster, manual processing time and costs fell significantly, and user satisfaction and trust improved.
