The Organ And Tissue Authority Reduces Time To Restore Microsoft® SharePoint® Data From Multiple Days To Less Than 30 Minutes With DocAve®

The Organ and Tissue Authority in Canberra is a small Australian Commonwealth agency that used Microsoft SharePoint 2010 to support collaboration among staff and about 350 external stakeholders. With fewer than 30 staff managing the environment, the Authority needed reliable, granular protection and fast restoration of SharePoint data—capabilities that native SharePoint lacked and that previously required full database restores taking days and risking loss of new content. Administrators also needed easier user-permission management and accurate usage reporting.

The Authority implemented AvePoint’s DocAve platform—DocAve Backup & Restore, DocAve Administrator, and DocAve Report Center—to meet those needs. DocAve enabled scheduled full and incremental backups and restored content in under 30 minutes, reduced time spent on permissions by about 15 minutes per user through automated duplication, and produced accurate unique-user usage reports. The solution delivered faster recovery, more efficient administration, better usage insights, and greater operational confidence.
