Tannis Food Distributors, a regional food industry supplier based in Ottawa, needed to move its corporate intranet and document stores from Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to SharePoint 2010 as aging servers were virtualized. A manual migration would have taken about a month and two full-time staff, so the company sought a fast, low-impact way to preserve content, metadata and permissions while minimizing disruption to users.
